Gaming Investment Trends
According to Aream & Co., the first half of 2025 was the strongest since the pandemic in terms of deal volume and number of transactions ($9.5B across 82 deals). Public market activity is growing again, while early-stage funding remains minimal. PC/console companies have the highest valuations, while western mobile studios are under pressure.
Mobile Marketing Patterns
Singular reports that although global ad spend has normalized, gaming saw a 15% YoY drop in Q1 2025. Android drives nearly 90% of installs, while iOS delivers most of the revenue. Gaming also shows strong ATT opt-in rates, averaging 26.5%.
Investment Focus on Mobile Studios
InvestGame and GDEV tracked 435 mobile gaming deals since 2020. Turkish studios attracted 27% of all venture funding for casual mobile developers. Excluding the Activision-Blizzard deal, mobile studios accounted for 61% of M&A deal value.
Steam Wishlist Behavior
Video Game Insights confirms that higher wishlist counts directly correlate with stronger sales. The industry standard is to launch a Steam page 6–12 months before release. The top 10% of MMO games on Steam average 183K wishlists.
